“The Challenger 4G convinced as a powerful sail with proper handling, as well in side shore conditions and with good control.“ (German surf magazine)
surf-Tipp: The 2018 Challenger 4G is an inexpensive , less playful power-sail for the experienced wave sailor – thanks strong planing power, good drive and handling suitable at many wave spots.
Are you looking for a side shore wave sail with great planing performance? The Challenger 4G offers good conditions for that. It’s certainly not the lightest sail. It’s feels when starting to plane and at full planing a bit heavier and fuller – but not particularly stable. It needs to be controlled a bit actively and corrected, but it doesn’t show any tendencies to pull on the sail hand, not even in hardcore overpower conditions. As well on the wave it keeps up the lively feeling and rips apart every wave. The sail requires a bit more effort of the body and the sails exactly does what you want. Not with remarkable effortlessness, but in exchange – and that’s even more a surprise – pretty agile. And it gives the impression of one piece, it doesn’t wobble or wriggle. So Challenger managed to build a sail with sufficient handling, good planing performance and, if the rider has a bit of feeling for his sail, good control.
The pressure point, which is positioned a bit further back in the sail, helps to plane early and to reach good speed. The excellent planing performance exists as well when riding a wave. It creates a good drive on the wave. The Challenger 4G convinced as a powerful sail with proper handling, as well in side shore conditions and with good control.
