The Freestyle wave!
After the great success of the 4 batten sail in 2010 and 2011, we worked non-stop between Australia and Italy to get even better results.
The bottom batten was moved just below the clew because the sail result more efficient, the cutting of base is still very high, and therefore does not lose manoeuvrability.
A great work was done in the research and selection of materials, we decided to put in the top three panels a material called PX05 lightweight and very durable, and the result has 100% satisfied, the sail is even more lightweight, manoeuvrable and durable.
Having reduced in this way a lot of weight from the boom pocket of the sail on , when sailing but especially in the handling the feeling is amazing, really seems to have nothing in the hands.
The concept of the sail is always the same, powerful in the bottom but at the same time with a good openings on top.
All these features make the sail full planing, manoeuvrable and so FUN!
Rig guide:
Downhaul the sail so that at all times batten 1 and 2 from the top are opening with a loose leech. In stronger wind you can downhaul to have a loose leech till the third batten. Outhaul should be given just to feel a light pressure while fastening the rope to the boom cleat. Remember to also pull more outhaul, if you pull more downhaul when the wind increases.
